The award, named for longtime educator Laverne Ford Wimberly, recognized Cheyenne Cooks of Monroe Demonstration Academy, Kirsten Hicklin of KIPP Tulsa University Prep and Haley Newby of Hawthorne Elementary School.
The mayor framed the awards within a broader civic initiative.
