Caltrans tells MCOG applicants about grant deadline; district transit-survey results forthcoming

Caltrans representatives told the Mendocino Council of Governments Policy Advisory Committee on Nov. 4 that the deadline for the Fiscal Year 2025–26 Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant is Nov. 21 and that applicants should submit draft applications to the district by Nov. 7 to receive feedback.

"Applications are due on 11/21 in about 3 weeks. So this Friday is the deadline to submit a draft application to get feedback," said Gary (Caltrans district staff). He added that the district will provide feedback to applicants in time to incorporate changes into final submissions.

Caltrans also reported that the survey collecting transit needs on the state highway system closed the previous Friday and that district staff will meet with Caltrans headquarters next week to discuss the survey findings and next steps.

Staff and committee members reiterated the grant deadlines during the meeting to ensure applicants use the district review period. No formal grant awards were announced at the meeting; the remarks were informational to encourage timely applications and to summarize the transit‑plan survey schedule.
