The Wasilla City Council took the following formal actions at its Oct. 27 regular meeting:
- Consent agenda approved by motion (moved by Council member Crafton; seconded by Council member Cottle). Consent items included regular meeting minutes (Oct. 13, 2025), the introduction and recommended public hearing for Ordinance Serial No. 25‑36 (amending the FY2026 budget by appropriating $269,353 from the general fund for Wasilla Library expansion design phases), and AM 2558 (city council regular meeting schedule for calendar year 2026).
- AM 25‑56 (utility service agreement to Matanuska Electric Association, $115,780, for utility extensions related to Bumpus Recreation Area restroom construction): postponed to the next regular meeting at administration’s request so the city can bring a resolution to move funds and confirm right‑of‑way funding eligibility (motion to postpone by Council member Graham; second by Council member Rubio).
- AM 25‑57 (contract change order to Big Dipper Construction, $16,706, for West Foggy Drive improvements): approved by council with no objection (moved by Council member Graham; seconded by Council member Schmidt). Staff said the change order covers final measured quantities (imported fill and seeding requirements) that exceeded the project’s 10 percent contingency.
All votes reported at the meeting were taken by voice and recorded as having no objection where noted.
