Sergeant Coleman, who led the event, said nearly all first‑responder agencies in Newton County participated and that positive public interactions at the event help change perceptions of law enforcement. The event includes bounce houses, games, hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn; staff said it has grown since it began as a smaller effort two years earlier.
Council thanked Sergeant Coleman and staff for the outreach and said the event contributes to positive relationships between officers and children and families.
