The council approved an ordinance that repeals and replaces Chapter 6.40 of the city code to expand and codify license taxes for utilities and video service providers. Council approved the measure unanimously, 7–0.
Leslie, a city staff member, told council the change consolidates separate articles that previously covered electric and telephone and adds natural gas, water and wastewater providers as well as video service providers. The update is intended as housekeeping to consolidate licensing fees and bring all utilities under a single chapter.
Council moved and seconded the ordinance for discussion and the clerk recorded a roll‑call vote of 7–0 in favor.
