Goshen resident seeks update on County Road 40 traffic study and signage changes

ELKHART — Tom Bigler of Goshen said he returned to the Board of Commissioners on Nov. 3 to ask for an update on a traffic study and sign placements on County Road 40.

“I was here several months ago addressing concerns with speed limit and traffic sign placement on County Road 40,” Bigler said. He said he received emails indicating a traffic study was needed but that he has not seen work or notice of the study's results.

A commissioner and county staff said a traffic study was completed and that the board had already approved a four‑way stop at the intersection he referenced and a reduced speed limit east of that point. Staff said it may take time to advertise the changes in local media and post the updated signs; they offered to follow up by email.

Bigler provided his address during the comment; county staff said they would follow up with details.
