The Claremore City Council voted to approve Resolution 2025-15, authorizing staff to execute the closing documents for the completed 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) sewer project.

The action came after staff reported that all construction and related work on the 2023 project has been completed and that the administration is prepared to finalize the project closeout. A staff member told the council the city is "wrapping up our 2023 CDBG Sewer Project" and is "ready to close everything out." The same presenter said the city is pursuing competitive 2025 CDBG funding to continue sewer-line and related improvements in the older sections of town.

The resolution instructs the mayor and designated staff to sign the documents necessary to complete the grant closeout and to deliver the paperwork required by the program. The motion to approve the resolution was made and seconded; the clerk recorded members voting "Yes" during the roll call and the motion carried.

Council members and staff discussed the scale of longer-term sewer needs briefly during the meeting; one council member asked, recalling an earlier presentation, whether the overall sewer enhancement need was about $140,000,000, a figure mentioned in the chamber. Staff described the work as being done in phases rather than all at once.

No amendments to the resolution were proposed. The approval completes the city's administrative obligations for the 2023 CDBG sewer project and preserves the city's eligibility to pursue future CDBG funding for larger projects.
