RTA selects nominating committee for December officer recommendations

The Riverside County Transportation Authority board of directors selected the members of its annual nominating committee on Oct. 23.
Samantha Samaniego, the agency's clerk of the board, explained the committee's role: to recommend candidates for chair, vice chair and second vice chair. By rule, Chair Hemingway automatically serves on the nominating committee; the board drew four additional members and two alternates by lottery. The members selected were Chair Hemingway and Directors Dines, Miller, Sullivan and Barnard. Alternates named were Directors Spiegel and Schwenk.
Samaniego reminded directors that committee members and alternates are not eligible to be recommended for officer positions under the board's procedures. The nominating committee will meet briefly before the November board meeting and will present its recommendations for officer positions at the December meeting for a vote.
