The Riverside County Transportation Authority board unanimously authorized staff to award agreement number M25140 to Southwest Lift and Equipment Incorporated for purchase and installation of a bus wash chassis lift at the agency's Riverside maintenance facility.
Melissa Blankenship, director of contracts, told the board the maintenance team uses a platform‑style chassis lift in the chassis wash area to elevate 40‑foot buses for undercarriage and engine compartment cleaning. The service is performed on approximately 20 vehicles each week and is an element of the agency's preventative maintenance program. Staff said the current lift is functional but has reached the end of its useful life.
Staff issued an IFB on Sept. 26 and received bids Oct. 10. The low bid from Southwest Lift and Equipment Incorporated was $210,596; staff recommended a 10% contingency of $21,060, for a total project authorization of $231,656. Funds are available in the board‑approved capital budget, staff said. The item was reviewed and unanimously recommended by the executive committee prior to the full‑board action.
The board voted to authorize staff to award agreement M25140 as presented.
