Several routine but consequential items on the agenda passed on Oct. 14 by unanimous vote. Highlights:
- Consent agenda: Supervisor Poe moved approval of the consent agenda with Local Transportation Commission item CA12 removed; Supervisor Toso seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
- Property acquisition: The board approved acquisition of two adjacent parcels on Fiske Road in Coulterville to support future North County Health & Human Services expansion. County Administrative Officer Joe Lynch said the purchase is supported by grant funding tied to the North County remodel; the vote was 5-0.
- Labor agreements: The board approved a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Mariposa County Managerial Organization (MCMCO), effective Nov. 1, 2025, and a short-term amendment to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) MOU to correct the salary appendix; both items passed 5-0. County staff said the MCMCO negotiation addressed longevity steps, flexible benefits and overtime for disaster response outside declared emergencies.
Why it matters: The property purchase secures land for local health-service capacity and the labor agreements maintain workforce stability before the contract expiration date; the unanimous votes reflect clear board support for implementing previously negotiated agreements and for enabling the North County HHS project to proceed.
