Commission holds attorney‑client session on developer rebate amendment; negotiations ongoing

The Coffey County Board of Commissioners entered a 15‑minute attorney‑client executive session on Nov. 4 to receive legal advice about a proposed amendment to the county’s developer rebate agreement (the BID/CID/TA rebate agreement). County counsel said Kutak Rock, the county’s bond counsel, has been coordinating revisions with local counsel for the developer and corporate counsel in Massachusetts.

The board returned to open session and staff reported negotiations were ongoing; counsel indicated they expect to present formal amendment documents to the board for review in the coming weeks. No formal action was taken during or immediately after the executive session.
