Overland Park council adopts official street map update, approves annual comprehensive plan update

Overland Park City Council on Nov. 3 unanimously approved an updated official street map under ordinance CSM 34 91 and adopted the city's annual comprehensive plan update (PLM 2025‑000069 and ordinance OPCP 34 90).

The street map update, presented by planning staff, lists nine proposed changes (identified in staff materials as changes a through i) that include additions such as streams and railroad alignments, proposed roundabouts, and clarifying street-name and verbiage updates. Staff told the council the official street map is used to show existing and proposed major streets for which building and setback lines are established and that the city follows a state‑statute public‑hearing process; the map was distributed to the county planning and engineering departments and the state transportation department and staff reported receiving no comments from those agencies.
