Dublin City Council on Nov. 3 approved staff’s recommendation to accept the lowest and best bid of $762,174 from The Ryder Company Inc. for the Pedestrian Tunnel Maintenance 2025 project on Memorial Drive near Berkshire Court.
Staff said the project replaces deteriorated tunnel entryways with new concrete abutments and associated aesthetic features. Funding was identified in the 2025–2029 Capital Improvements Program; the engineer’s estimate was $950,000 and construction is expected to begin in March 2026 with completion by July 2026. Staff recommended council accept the bid and authorize the contract.
The resolution passed by roll call; staff said the path is expected to reopen in time for the memorial tournament in May.
