Lake County renews CoreView license to streamline Microsoft account administration

Lake County's technology leaders told the committee on Oct. 31 they will renew CoreView, an administrative platform that automates user provisioning, enforces consistent security configurations and provides audit trails for the county's Microsoft accounts (email, calendar, Teams).
Chris Blanding, the county's CIO, said CoreView reduced account-provisioning time by about 90 percent and supports standardized templates to reduce human error. Eric Carlson, the county's CTO, explained the product provides auditing capability that is important for investigating security incidents and ensuring permissions are applied consistently across 28 departments. The renewal was presented as a cooperative purchase through CDW-G; the amount cited in the agenda was $134,347.
The committee approved the renewal by voice vote and staff said they will monitor competitors and examine options year to year.
