The Lake County Technology Committee approved a joint resolution authorizing a contract with XVision, Inc., for construction and materials management software used by the Division of Transportation to manage contractor pay items and monthly payouts.
County Engineer Shane Schneider explained the software tracks pay items and quantities, manages the digital daily diary (weather, equipment on site and work performed) and is used by IDOT and other agencies across the state. He said the vendor hosts data on Microsoft's cloud and field staff access the system through secure logins on tablets or laptops; Schneider noted the project data are public records.
The agenda described a maximum contract cost of $87,238 and an appropriation of $105,000 from the quarter-percent sales tax for transportation funds. The committee approved the resolution by voice vote.
