Polk County commissioners approved an infrastructure agreement with developer Power Bargain 17 LLC to facilitate a roadway realignment and intersection improvements at Bargain Barn Road and U.S. Highway 1792.
Under the agreement, the developer will design and construct requested improvements beyond those required for the developer’s site, and Polk County will reimburse the developer for actual costs not to exceed $3,756,473.49. Staff said such reimbursements often allow faster delivery at lower cost than delivering the work through county project delivery.
Board members asked about the disposition of the existing roadway remnant; county and city staff said a portion of the right‑of‑way had been transferred to the city and any vacation or right‑of‑way adjustments would be handled through the city’s process.
The board voted to approve the agreement; chair announced motion carries.
