Lake County committees approved the recommended FY2026 video gaming revenue fund budget and adopted an amendment to the county's video gaming revenue policy that raises the retained amount in the dedicated fund from $800,000 to $825,000.
Dominic Strezzo, community development administrator, said the policy update increases the guaranteed portion of video gaming revenue that remains in the fund and that the additional $25,000 "directly will go to support 2-1-1 information" handled by United Way, including software and referral costs for behavioral health and addiction support services.
Under the county policy, the first $825,000 of annual video gaming revenue remains in the fund to support public‑health and prevention activities; amounts above that are transferred to the general fund. Strezzo said the FY2026 budget projects $1.2 million in video gaming revenue based on recent trends and that awards from the grant round will follow the established application process.
The committees approved the policy amendment and the budget by voice vote.
