Streator awards $15,000 façade grant to Stride Point Properties LLC

Streator City Council approved a $15,000 façade grant to Stride Point Properties LLC for improvements at 2416 North Bloomington Street following a unanimous planning commission recommendation.

Staff described the scope as painting and siding work limited to the portion of the building covered by the grant; because the building is outside the downtown historic district, it is not subject to the same downtown design rules. The planning commission found the proposed work acceptable, in part because the brick had not previously been painted and the improvements were not considered maintenance that would trigger downtown design constraints.
