At the meeting the board said it has engaged counsel to begin the superintendent search. The chair said advertising for the position could begin by the end of the week and that a selection could occur in November or December. "We are moving as quickly as we possibly can," the chair said.
The board did not take a vote related to Phipps—s employment at the meeting. Phipps confirmed he will continue in his role through November and depart in December, and the board said it expects to present a formal search timeline and candidate-selection process in subsequent meetings.
