Grand Island board unanimously rejects draft FSEIS for proposed Long Road warehouse project

The Grand Island Town Board on Nov. 3 voted unanimously to reject a draft final supplemental environmental impact statement (FSEIS) submitted by the applicant for a proposed warehouse and distribution facility at 2780 Long Road and 0 Bedell Road.

Town staff and independent consultants (CHA, as referenced in the resolution) reviewed the draft FSEIS and found it deficient. The board adopted a resolution stating the draft FSEIS is rejected as insufficient, directed that a copy of the resolution and the CHA letter be mailed to the applicant (Grand Island Commerce Center, as identified in the resolution) and made the resolution effective immediately.

The resolution was presented and read into the record; board members described the action as necessary because consultant review identified substantive deficiencies in the applicant's environmental submission. No negative declaration or final determination was adopted; the item will remain in the environmental-review process pending further applicant submissions or revisions.

The vote to adopt the rejection resolution was unanimous.
