Staff identified the six projects, their funding sources and approximate budgets: Lindner Way sidewalk improvements (2008 SPLOST, approximately $330,000; about 80% complete), Forest Parkway median landscape improvements (2015 SPLOST, approximately $447,000; progress pending wetter weather), Legacy Dog Park at Bill Lee Park/Main Street (capital funded, approximately $45,000; substantially complete and ready for ribbon cutting), Theater Park (about 90% complete, remaining gym equipment and a pavilion), Star Park Amphitheatre and park renovations (SPLOST, estimated $10,000,000; currently in design), and the city center construction project (plus bond funds, approximately $100,000,000; CMAR project in preconstruction with design consultant and construction manager at risk engaged).
Staff said next steps include monitoring milestones, budget adherence, access and coordination challenges, and preparing quarterly status reports for the mayor and council. Councilmembers expressed appreciation for the quarterly updates and asked staff to continue providing them; one councilmember asked about scheduling Walledrop Drive for future work and staff said easement acquisitions are underway.
No new appropriations or voteable actions were proposed during the presentation; the update was informational.
