Planning commission finds existing timber management plan complies with county code

The Mariposa County Planning Commission approved a resolution finding that an existing non‑industrial timber management plan (NTMP) complied with county code requirements for the timber‑exclusive zone.
Staff explained the NTMP was prepared and first approved in 1996 by registered professional forester Kirby Molen and that the plan had also received state Board of Forestry approval. The commission was asked to make a finding that the existing plan meets county code section 17.44 (timber‑exclusive zone requirements) and the condition of approval requiring a timber management plan. The applicants and the forester were present for questions.
A commissioner moved to approve the finding; the motion was seconded. The commission took a voice vote; the chair noted one commissioner (John McCammon) was excused. The motion carried. Staff and the chair thanked the applicants and the professional forester for completing the required procedural steps.
