Hopkinton council, sitting as licensing board, renews multiple liquor and retail licenses

The Hopkinton Town Council convened as the licensing board on Nov. 3 and approved renewal applications for multiple Class A, B, C and limited liquor licenses, and granted holiday liquor sales. Approvals were made subject to the condition that all state and town regulations are met and town taxes are current prior to issuance.

The board recognized applicants in the chamber during roll call and asked those present to identify themselves. Village Spirits (Patel) was acknowledged during the Class A renewals. The board then moved through Class B approvals, including Center Hill Country Club, Fanninghill Country Club and Lucky House, and approved a Class B‑limited renewal for Main Street Pizza. Councilors made a consolidated motion to approve the class B and class C renewals with the standard condition that state and town regulations be met and taxes current; the motions were seconded and carried by voice vote.

During the licensing segment the council opened a hearing on a vehicle license application filed by Chelsea Berry of 23 River Road, Ashford. Berry described plans for a small market and café with homemade ice cream and coffee and said the business would aim to serve neighborhood needs; no final action on that specific vehicle-license application is recorded in the meeting transcript.

The board considered a separate motion to grant Good Days a license and to permit holiday liquor sales; both motions were approved after a second. Throughout the session councilors reiterated the standard issuance condition: licenses will be issued only after compliance with state and town regulations and confirmation that town taxes are current.

The licensing board then adjourned and the council reconvened to continue other town business.
