Rodríguez Díaz, president of WIPR, told the chamber that Reyes had been “a voice of confidence and credibility” and a key figure in recent management efforts at the network.
Reyes accepted the recognition, recounted beginning at WIPR on Nov. 1, 1985, and thanked family members and colleagues present. He described WIPR as “a heritage of information, education and culture” and invited representatives to visit station facilities and to support the corporation’s ongoing funding and operations.
The motion read into the record cited Reyes’s career milestones, awards and service; the body adopted the recognition during a special session that later continued into legislative business.
