Plumas County OKs multi‑year taser agreement with training provision

Plumas County supervisors authorized the Plumas County Sheriff's Office to enter a multi‑year agreement Oct. 14 to procure conducted energy devices (tasers), replacement supplies and training. The agreement term reported in the staff item runs from Nov. 1, 2025, through Oct. 31, 2030, and the vendor contract limit was described as not to exceed $140,000 per year as budgeted in the Sheriff's supplemental law enforcement services fund.
Sheriff's office staff told the board the contract includes vendor‑provided training and will certify up to five department members as instructors; the initial instructor course is an eight‑hour program. Supervisors asked about frequency of training and demonstrations; staff committed to coordinate demonstrations and confirmed training details are included in the contract.
A motion to approve the agreement passed without general fund impact and with funding identified in the adopted fiscal year 2025–26 budget. The board recorded the vote and authorized the chair to sign the agreement in the approved form.
