The Del Norte Local Transportation Commission approved $111,110 in Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) funds as the county match for a regional guardrail replacement project.
County staff told the commission the county applied for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding this year to replace guardrail across the county. Staff said the planned work begins with an assessment of all existing guardrail and will proceed to replace selected segments.
A motion to allocate $111,110 in RSTP funds for the match was made, seconded and approved by unanimous roll call (Policy Advisory member Ostrand; Commissioners Altman, Borges, Tinkler, Howard and Short; Chair Greenough). There was no public comment on the item.
No detailed schedule, roadway limits or contractor information was provided during the meeting. Staff said the RSTP allocation is required to meet the HSIP grant match conditions.
