The Adrian City Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 3 to approve a settlement agreement and release with Johnson Controls and authorized the city administrator to sign the agreement.
The commission had first moved into closed session to discuss a settlement proposal and pending litigation; after returning to open session the commission considered Resolution R25-063. The resolution was described at the meeting as authorizing the administrator to sign the settlement agreement with Johnson Controls. The commission did not disclose settlement terms or monetary amounts during the open meeting.
The commission’s public materials will include the resolution text and any portions of the agreement that are public record; where details are confidential under applicable law the city will follow legal and disclosure requirements, staff said. No additional action was taken during the Nov. 3 meeting.
