Pitt County adopts proclamation to light county buildings green in recognition of veterans

Staff presented the proclamation and read language thanking veterans for their service, noting the role of county veteran services staff and encouraging government buildings and residents to "light a green light" in observance of the week from Nov. 4 to Nov. 11. Chair Benjie Holliman signed the proclamation and Clerk Kimberly Heinz attested the document.
County staff said the courthouse cupola will be lit green this year as part of the Emerald Loop lighting project; county employees who are veterans will be recognized at a Nov. 6 event at the Pitt County Office Park North community center.
