Candace Rojas read and summarized sections of an executive order dated 03/25/2025 on election integrity, and urged action on voter-list maintenance, voting-system standards and prosecution of election crimes. Vice mayor Baxter responded from the dais, saying the sheriff had exceeded expectations protecting the president and rejecting a call to recall the sheriff.
Rojas also suggested a parking-voucher policy for public attendees and urged partnerships with houses of worship and nonprofits to create tiny-home villages for people experiencing homelessness. Jane Justice criticized county spending and transfers to the sheriff’s office and expressed frustration about perceived overbuilding.
Commissioner Abruzzo closed public comment with an announcement that the food bank will distribute food at John Prince Park on Nov. 7. County staff reminded residents that signage and mailed notices will be posted when hearing dates are set for land‑use applications.
