The Wichita County Commissioners Court authorized posting an invitation for bids for four generators and rescinded a prior cooperative-purchase court order (25Dot0708Dot361) at its Nov. 4 meeting.
Matt (county staff) told the court the county initially pursued purchase through a cooperative buy board (co-op) but was advised by federal grant compliance counsel that FEMA requires procurement via an RFP or IFB for the grant rules to be satisfied. Staff said the county had previously submitted specifications and had been working with a vendor but must reissue procurement documents under an IFB to comply with federal procurement rules.
The court voted to rescind the earlier cooperative purchase authorization and to authorize posting the invitation for bid; the motion carried 5-0.
Staff said specifications for each generator size are complete and that bids will be returned and brought to the court for award after the posting period ends.
