Commissioners approve consent agenda; snow removal contract OK'd and Bradford Recovery addendum placed on Nov. 13 agenda

The Centre County Board of Commissioners approved the week’s consent agenda and the Oct. 31 check run, and took three routine contract actions during the Nov. 5 public meeting.

John, covering for Jonathan in facilities management, presented a contract with Aaron Bailey to provide snow removal services at the Phillipsburg Magisterial District Judge’s office. The contract was described as “not to exceed $8,500” for the period Nov. 4 through April 1, with per‑incident charges that make the not‑to‑exceed figure conservative. A motion to approve the Aaron Bailey contract was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.

Kathy asked the board to consider Addendum No. 1 with Millerton Acquisition LLC, doing business as Bradford Recovery Center, to provide a six‑month extension on the provider’s agreement for fiscal year 2024‑25. According to the presentation, the county extended similar contracts to align with a grant agreement from the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs; staff said the estimated grant total for this extension is $2,500 and that federal dollars are anticipated to pay the expense. The addendum covers 07/01/2025 through 12/31/2025. Commissioners moved and seconded to add the Bradford Recovery Center addendum to the Nov. 13 consent agenda; the motion carried.

Commissioner Concepcion highlighted a payment to Center Safe, a local domestic‑violence service provider, and noted the reliance of many nonprofits on state and federal funding. The board then moved to approve the Oct. 31 check run; a motion and second carried by voice vote.
