Commissioners approve $1.95 million REDI subgrant for Decatur County fairgrounds

Decatur County commissioners on the regular meeting agenda approved a subgrant agreement with Accelerate Rural Indiana Regional Development Authority to accept $1,950,000 in REDI grant funds for the Decatur County Fairgrounds project, which includes a new building and other site improvements.

The commissioners voted to authorize the subgrant agreement after a brief presentation noting that Accelerate Rural Indiana will act as the pass-through for the grant funds. Speakers said the project team also has raised roughly $460,000 in private and local fundraising to supplement the grant award.
