County Superintendent reports Williams schools monitoring: 21 schools reviewed, instructional materials and facilities found sufficient

At the Nov. 4 meeting the Placer County Superintendent of Schools presented the annual Williams schools report noting that 21 schools in the county qualified for additional monitoring under state criteria (comprehensive support and improvement, targeted support, or ESEA subgroup triggers).
Gail Garmelina Mohika said county staff conducted checks within required timeframes and found that all monitored schools had sufficient instructional materials, facilities rated good or exemplary, and school accountability report card (SARC) information was accurate. The county also reported no teacher misassignments but identified a total of 2.5 vacant teacher positions across three schools among the monitored cohort.
Superintendent Mohika noted the state re-benching cycle identifies qualifying schools every three years and that districts will receive the monitoring materials and must place related items on their November agendas. The board received the report; no action was required.
