Passport office set to open; Main Street and library projects advance

City manager Jason and staff provided a set of service and project updates. Jason told the council the passport office will open by appointment on Nov. 18 and that the city's scheduling portal will accept bookings. "November 18, Tuesday, November 18, we will be open," he said.
Staff announced the hiring of Gwen Butters as an administrative assistant in community development to replace a staff member who moved to the recorder position. The city manager also reported Main Street work is progressing, the public-safety building paving is complete and on schedule, and library construction is moving into the sheetrock phase with electrical, HVAC and rough plumbing largely finished.
Other staff reported parks and community services items, including a recent ribbon cutting for Foothill Village Park and ongoing planning for seasonal community events. Council members praised staff for project progress and noted the Main Street improvements were within budget.
