Oakdale City Council approved a resolution authorizing the purchase of four work trucks — two 2026 Ford Maverick XLTs and two 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s — at a combined cost of $139,247.86. The expenditure is to be funded equally from the Sewer Capital Replacement Fund (621) and the Water Capital Replacement Fund (644). Council also authorized declaring older vehicles surplus and proceeding with disposition under city policy.

Stanley told the council several existing vehicles have exceeded their useful life, shown high mileage and developed recurring mechanical issues. Staff described a 2002 Chevy used to transport chlorine whose bed has been corroded by chemicals, a high‑mileage Chevy and a Ford with recurring electrical issues; the presentation recommended replacing those units and reassigning some existing fleet vehicles as interim replacements.

Staff obtained local bids and proposed splitting awards between Halen Ford and Steve Chevrolet because bid differences were small. The new vehicles will come with a 3‑year/36,000‑mile bumper‑to‑bumper warranty and a 5‑year/60,000‑mile powertrain warranty. The council approved the purchase and surplus declarations on a 4-0 roll-call vote.
