Commissioners authorize application to retain Greene County in.gov domain

Greene County commissioners authorized county staff to complete the state'required registration to retain the county's in.gov domain and named Commissioner Michael as the signer for the application.

Michael (IT/EMA) explained the in.gov administration requires an appointed or elected official to register an authorized contact and that the county intends to retain the domain while maintaining the existing code.green domain until Barracuda system upgrades allow migration. Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to fill out the application and granted Commissioner Michael authority to sign where necessary; the motion passed by voice vote.

Commission staff said the registration is intended to preserve the domain for future migration but that the county is not ready to fully migrate email systems until planned security upgrades are completed.
