Lenexa council approves five‑year special permit for medical clinic expansion on West 80th Parkway

The Lenexa City Council on Oct. 7 approved an ordinance authorizing a five‑year special use permit to allow Ra Health Company to expand its medical clinic at 12760 West 80th Street Parkway.
Stephanie Sullivan, a senior planner with the Community Development Department, told the council the property is zoned NPO (Neighborhood‑level intensity Office) and that the proposed expansion would increase providers from four to eight and maximum patient capacity from nine to 18. Sullivan said the expansion is interior only and staff reviewed the application against the city's 13 rezoning and special‑use criteria. “Staff is supportive of the expansion of the business,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan noted that the building is multi‑tenant and that required parking (41 spaces) is nearly met on site (40 spaces) with additional shared‑parking agreements in the nearby Greystone South commercial area. The council moved and passed the ordinance by voice vote; the motion was made and seconded on the record, and council declared the ordinance passed.
The special use permit restarts the five‑year term that had been granted previously for the same business; the new permit accommodates the larger internal footprint and patient load. The applicant indicated there were no additional comments to add to staff’s presentation during the meeting.
