Hunt County commissioners launch FY 2026-27 budget review, form cross-department teams

Hunt County Commissioners Court met in a special session on Nov. 4, 2025, approved routine financial items and then began organizing teams to identify cost‑saving measures ahead of the 2026‑27 fiscal-year budget process.

The court approved accounts payable and passed budget amendments by voice vote early in the meeting before entering an executive session. Judge Provost announced the executive session under numeric references to the Texas Government Code and asked nonessential attendees to leave the courtroom; the court later returned to open session at 11:21 a.m.
