A Garber consultant briefed the commission that interior renovations to the airport control tower are substantially complete and that remaining radio-room equipment moves and small contractor touch-ups are pending.
Greg (Garber) said the project team is evaluating how to spend remaining project funds and identified an emergency generator and new HVAC as priority items. He said the tower manager has provided a “wish list” to guide purchases and that staff expect to have pricing on the generator and HVAC by next month.
On the strategic plan, Garber reported a visioning meeting was held Sept. 4 to gather stakeholder input on the airport’s strengths, weaknesses and future priorities. The consultant said planners will present alternatives, including maps showing potential locations for new hangars and other development, at a December meeting, which the consultant described as where “the fun starts.”
The consultant also noted the runway rehabilitation project is complete and will not be further discussed.
