Board approves retroactive CalViva Health agreement for intergovernmental transfer program

The Board of Supervisors approved a retroactive agreement with CalViva Health on Nov. 4 to ensure compliance with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) requirements for participation in the intergovernmental transfer (IGT) program. Interim Public Health Director Joe Prado appeared at the dais to answer board questions on the item.

The agreement covers Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2027 and was presented as consent item 38 after being pulled earlier for review under the Levine Act. After a brief staff presentation and no public comment, the board approved the chairman’s execution of the agreement by voice vote.

The item was presented as necessary to participate in the IGT program; the board did not request additional fiscal detail during the public discussion.
