Airport operations staff reported the airport secured a contractor to assess and repair recent hail damage and to replace roofs on all hangars and the tower, as well as to repair wall panels and repaint the terminal.
Operations staff said the contractor was selected without going through a competitive bidding process and was on site to conduct secondary comprehensive inspections. Staff described the scope as replacement of hangar roofs, replacement of multiple wall panels across the field, an upgraded tower roof and terminal painting.
In an update later in the meeting, staff and the activity manager said the contractor is Arkansas Roofing Company. Staff said the company offers a 20‑year workmanship warranty and will perform annual inspections for the warranty period, including a guaranteed 24‑hour response time for covered issues. Staff cautioned the warranty does not cover damage from future storms beyond normal repair terms.
Commissioners asked about the contract and requested a copy; staff agreed to provide the contract to the commission for review. Staff also reported they are reclaiming three hangars for violations (storage use and subleasing) and that delinquent fence-line tenant accounts have been brought current.
