The Clinton County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 30 approved an application to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for a $230,392 pass-through grant to expand the county's diversion program.
Mark Nasky, grant coordinator with West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission, told commissioners the grant would expand existing services in Clinton County, increase early-intervention options, extend services to youth diversion and involve magistrate-level judges and probation staff training. "This diversion grant is very similar to the one that we received," Nasky said, adding the program has shown reductions in recidivism in the county.
Commissioners moved, seconded and voted to approve the application. The motion approves submission of the grant application; details on matching funds or the county's administrative responsibilities were not specified in the meeting remarks.
If awarded, the grant would be administered through West Branch as a pass-through to support expansion activities described during the presentation.
