The commissioner described weekend events: a trunk-or-treat at Cornerstone Church in Town Creek, his oldest granddaughter's last soccer game of the year at Hollywood Soccer Field, and two screenings of Rocky Horror Picture Show hosted by the 3 Notch Players (one at midnight on Halloween and another Saturday at 8 p.m.). He said these events drew strong community turnout.
"They really do a phenomenal job," the commissioner said of Rec and Parks staff, adding that the county is "very lucky" to have such community resources. No budgetary changes or new parks initiatives were announced during the remarks.
