Commissioner Nazareth and others requested more precise data on biodiversity (acreage and species counts for prairie plantings and tree plantings), clearer reporting on local food procurement costs and quantities, and a more transparent construction‑waste plan (last updated in 2016). Operations staff said the district currently does not use broad‑spectrum pesticides on properties and described sports‑field fertilizer practices; they also noted fleet discussions with Student Transit and that the district—s bus fleet runs on clean diesel at present, with federal grants and supplier availability affecting progress toward electric vehicles.
Administration noted ongoing data work with Xcel Energy to establish baseline emissions and energy usage. The board asked staff to provide further documentation on local food sourcing with Indian Head Food Service and to quantify biodiversity outcomes in future reports. After discussion, the board approved OE‑3 by motion and voice vote.
No immediate policy changes were adopted; the vote accepted the monitoring report and directed administration to continue reporting updates and provide requested documentation.
