Proposed citywide audits include Aurora Water adjustments and account changes, residential development inspections across departments, a workers’ compensation follow‑up, court administration, purchasing card follow‑up, and Small Business Development Center data‑integrity controls. Police audits proposed for 2026 include police response time, DNA processing and handling, and facial recognition technology compliance.
Council member Bergen asked whether the police response time audit would include nonemergency calls; Crawford said audit objectives will be scoped when the audit begins and that nonemergency response can be included. The committee affirmed the audit plan.
