Bannock County commissioners approve November food drive with local food bank

"This past year, we've had a lot of employee wellness events focused on physical or financial wellness, but I'd like to get a community involvement type of event going," Matt Phillips, HR nurse management director, said. Phillips said the food bank suggested a November drive because donations often focus on Thanksgiving and drop off in December; the county's drive would help with Christmas donations and could include employee volunteers to help with December pickup and distribution.
Phillips said other nearby entities had recently completed drives and welcomed another event to support December needs. A commissioner moved to approve the food-drive initiative and the motion passed with commissioners voting in the affirmative.
