Kootenai County OKs $577,303 design work for Airport Taxiway Alpha rehabilitation

Kim Stevenson, speaking for the airport, presented work order 25-005 for the final design and construction administration of Taxiway Alpha. The work order totals $577,303.25 and would rehabilitate roughly 85% of the taxiway (about 4,620 feet). Stevenson said the taxiway was built in 1995 and is currently in fair condition.
The project is included in the airport’s construction improvement plan and has FAA concurrence. The schedule provided would allow additional testing this year, final design over the winter, and bidding and award in March–April 2026; Stevenson noted that if an FAA grant is not awarded, county expenditures would cease with minimal pre-award costs.
Commissioners approved the work order by voice vote.
