FPUA recognizes local businesses, residents and sheriff's office for service and cooperation

Board members on Nov. (date not specified in the transcript) heard several brief recognitions from community members praising FPUA work.

Gunther Schwartz of Spunky's Surf Shop thanked crews for a rapid response on Aug. 29 to a power issue affecting buildings at 1401 and 1403 North U.S. Highway 1, saying a crew arrived within 15 minutes and addressed the problem.

"They were great to work with and very kind," Schwartz said, thanking the authority for addressing the emergency.

Alman Armando Maldonado, president of Ocean Villas One, said residents have been pleased since switching to FPUANet in May 2025 and contrasted that stability with ongoing outages from other providers in the area.

Daryl Bey of Bluebird Bistro thanked FPUA crews for a sewer pipe replacement on Delaware Avenue, noting the work was "swift, efficient" and followed the provided timeline.

Acting Lt. Ryan Register of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office thanked crews for displaying a bucket truck and American flag to honor Detective Chris Mock, calling the gesture "very honorable" and expressing appreciation from the sheriff's office and the community.

The chair moved the meeting on to the next agenda item after the recognition segment.
