We're collecting hope for children and their families better battling muscular dystrophy," Carpenter said. He added, "Last year, thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised almost $17,000."
Carpenter invited residents to look for firefighters at intersections across Beaumont on Nov. 14-16 and noted an electronic-donation option posted on the department's Facebook page. He thanked the council for the proclamation and the city's continued support. After the proclamation, council members and firefighters moved outside for a photo in front of a fire engine.
