Yukon reports more than doubling of students completing graduation requirements at Yale program

District staff told the board that Yale, the district’s alternative program, increased the number of students completing graduation requirements from 10 last year to 23 this year and that demand remains high with a long wait list.
Melissa Barlow, a district staff member, told the board that the district has increased placements and completions at Yale, the alternative program designed to support students with credit deficiencies.
"Yale had 10 students complete their graduation requirements last year. This year the number is 23," Barlow said, comparing the two periods and noting the district more than doubled completions for that program.
Barlow praised Jodi and the Yale team for their work, saying they "do a great job of providing for those kiddos once they do get in there." She added the program has a long waiting list and that the district is continuing efforts to expand capacity to meet need.
The board heard the report during the district update; no board action on program expansion was taken at this meeting.
